Finished the tour, but still spinning for Summer of Spinning.. Maybe post pictures tomorrow...
It's been too HOT to even take pictures of yarn. Let alone spin it, or knit with it.
I spent three days out at my parents' house, working in the AC rather than staying home to have a heat stroke in the 105 degree heat.
Finally cooled down now to a respectable 90 degrees. Amazing how tolerable that feels now..

Tour De Fleece 09 - Rest Day - Week #1 Done
It's the first rest day in the tour, so I thought I'd just post what I've done so far.
And yes, that odd contraption is my spinning wheel. :) Majacraft Millie.

Tour De Fleece '09.
This is my stash as of the first of June 2009. I have added a few more things, hit the Black Sheep Gathering, and browsed a few Etsy shops..stuff on the way...and I've done a little training so far getting ready. I re-worked and re-plyed a couple of skeins I did in the last year that I just wasn't happy with, and finished that Twisted Teacake navajo ply that was sitting on the bobbins.
I finished the single of 4 oz of Targhee topin the Ruby River colorway, and I'm waiting on some black alpaca top to spin up that I'll 2-ply with that. In the meantime, I'm spinning up 4 oz of a mixed batt. I've done 2oz, and will try to finish the other 2 oz before Saturday so I can ply it with the first day of the tour and free up my bobbins for some other stuff.
I'm treadling this year on my old faithful Majacraft Millie just like last year, but I'm really starting to get the hang of this spinning stuff and hope to really get some mileage out of her this year.
The Tour de Fleece goes along with the Tour de France, and we'll be watching that every day and spinning.
I'm also doing the Summer of Spinning, so the Tour gives me a little impetus to really go for some quantity in July, but I also hope to get my wheel out to some other locations this summer for the scenery and photo ops. See you on the road!
